The most common myth about the credit cards is that if you bring it into some sort of magnetic field then it will ruin out. We have heard these type of stories a few times, that the credit card of someone got ruined out when he placed it near to a magnet. Actually every credit card or even debit cards to have some magnetic strips, and we do believe that when two magnets come into contact, there is a chance that one magnet can be ruined out.

Practically speaking it’s not true. I have not met with someone who has experienced the same in real life. These days magnet almost came with the train passes, key chains of cars, debit cards etc. and we use to store them together too, but we never face such scenario in which a card got ruined out because of some other card.
Let me tell you something very interesting, credit card companies are very well aware that every card will have to meet with some tough situation in its life time. So they need to make the cards as durable as possible, otherwise it would have cost them only, cause people will ask them to rectify their cards each and every time. So they usually make the cards from some hard magnets like ferrous oxide. Also the credit cards are made by some tough plastics which protect the magnets. So you need not to worry about the cards.
The process in which one magnetic strip got ruined out because of the influence of some other magnets is termed as demagnetization. In some cases credit cards also got demagnetized, like if they come in the magnetic area of the refrigerator, or MRI machines installed in hospitals etc. Practically credit cards got a bit of damage just because of the dirt’s and by the influence of a few factors like heat, cold, or pressure.
So, relax your credit card is not going to ruined out due to magnets so easily.
